National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

The NDIS can provide people with a disability in Australia with information and connections to services in their communities such as doctors, sporting clubs, support groups, libraries and schools, as well as information about support provided by each state and territory government. Use the NDIS Eligibility Checklist to help understand the Scheme and its requirements.

Orthotics and Prosthetics

The Australian Orthotic Prosthetic Association is the national peak professional body regulating the Australian orthotic and prosthetic sector. Check out their range of resources for consumers, including practitioner information and funding options.

Amputee Support Groups

Amputees & Families Support Group is a voluntary organisation providing a variety of services to amputees in Queensland.

Limbkids Support Association is a non-profit, voluntary organisation comprised of parents, professionals and interested people concerned with the care of children who have congenital or acquired limb differences.

Limbs 4 Life offers a range of programs and services that assist amputees, their families, their care givers and health care professionals. The organisation is driven by the belief that no amputee should go through the trauma of limb loss alone and all should have access to an organisation that understands their circumstances, can arrange connections with other amputees and provide up-to-date information.
