Bionics Gamechangers Australia is thrilled to announce an exciting new collaboration with the University of Melbourne, which will see the launch of joint initiatives to help fast-track medical bionic innovations across the country.

The University of Melbourne, along with other university and hospital Associates, will be instrumental in helping to guide the organisation’s national strategy for advocacy and developing pathways for accelerating ventures, said Bionics Gamechangers Australia CEO, Dr Robyn Stokes.

“We could not be more delighted to have the formalised support of the University of Melbourne through this new Associate partnership, and for the world-class expertise their staff and students bring when it comes to medical bionic innovation,” said Dr Stokes.

“The Bionics Gamechangers Australia model is built on genuine collaboration across states and territories to incubate and accelerate medtech ventures, and it is only with pioneering and forward-thinking partners such as the University of Melbourne that we can achieve these national goals and drive truly impactful solutions.”

Professor David Grayden, Clifford Chair of Neural Engineering in the University of Melbourne Department of Biomedical Engineering and Graeme Clark Institute, added:

“Linking people, engineering, science and medicine in new ways sits at the core of much of the work undertaken at the University of Melbourne, and we look forward to collaborating with Bionics Gamechangers Australia to help propel even more bionic discoveries that will transform millions of lives in Australia and the world,” said Professor Grayden.
